Chanakya Sutras

पहले निश्चय करें उसके बाद कार्य आरम्भ करें ॥ 
 ''First decide firmly, only then start the work.''

 ''अर्थात कार्य करने से पहले, इसे कैसे किया जायेगा? कितना लाभ होगा ? कितना समय लगेगा ? इससे किसी को हानि तो नही होगी ? इन प्रश्नों पर भली भाँती विचार कर लेना चाहिए, उसके बाद ही कार्य आरम्भ करना चाहिए l बिना सोचे समझे किया गया कार्य बाद में परेशानियां पैदा करता है l 

One should first think how the work would be done and what would be the benefit of it, how much time is is going to take? Will this work not be problematic to others etc. before starting a work.The work that is done without properly thinking before creates problems later on.''

 Aacharya Chaanakya in Chaanakya Sutra-100 


 कार्य पूरा होने पर ही लोगों को बताना चाहिए ॥ 
 ''One should reveal the work only after it is done.''

 ''अर्थात जब कार्य पूरा हो जाए तभी उसके बारे में लोगों को बताना चाहिए, पहले बताने से शत्रु कार्य में विघ्न डाल सकते हैं l 

One should reveal the work to others only after it is done, because if revealed before then one's enemies can put obstacles into the task.''

 Aacharya Chaanakya in Chaanakya Sutra-120


 ''कायर को कार्य की चिंता नही होती ॥''
 ''Only the cowards do not care for their work{duty}.''

 ''अर्थात वीर पुरुष ही कार्य के महत्व को समझते हैं और उसे पूरा करने में जी जान से लग जाते हैं l कायर पुरुष तो कार्य न करने का कोई न कोई बहाना अवश्य ढूंढ लेते हैं l

 Only the brave men understand the importance of the task and start doing it with all their heart.But the cowardly men always find an excuse for not doing the task.''

 Aacharya Chaanakya in Chaanakya Sutra-137


 ''मूर्ख को अपने मन की बात नही बतानी चाहिए ॥'' 
 ''One should not reveal what is in his heart to a stupid person.''

 ''अर्थात बुद्धिमान व्यक्ति को अपने मन की बात मूर्ख व्यक्ति को कभी नही बतानी चाहिए, क्योंकि मूर्ख व्यक्ति न तो उसे समझ पायेगा और न ही उसके पेट में बात पचेगी l 

A wise person should never tell what is in his heart to an idiot because first he will not understand it, and secondly he will never keep it to himself only.'' 

Aacharya Chaanakya in Chaanakya Sutra-140 


 ''विद्वान व्यक्ति को गम्भीर रहना चाहिए ॥ '' 

 ''A Scholar should stay profound .''

 ''अर्थात अधिक बोलने वाला और चंचल व्यक्ति चाहे कितना ही बड़ा विद्वान् हो लोग उसका आदर नही करते, गम्भीर न रहने वाले विद्वान् व्यक्ति लोगों पर अपना प्रभाव नही डाल पाते l इसलिए विद्वान् व्यक्ति को सदा गम्भीर रहना चाहिए l

 People who speak too much and are playful , if they may be great intellectuals , people do not respect them, those who can not remain profound can not impress others.Hence, A Scholar should stay profound .'' Aacharya Chaanakya in Chaanakya Sutra-144
