Sri Suktamश्री सूक्तं

Sri Suktam, is a Sanskrit devotional hymn (set of slokas) revering Sri or Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of wealth, prosperity and fertility. The hymns are found in the Rig Vedic khilanis, which are appendixes to the Rigveda The goddess Sri appears in several earlier vedic hymns, and is the personification of auspicious and royal qualities.The Sri Suktam assumes specific significance because of Sri Mahalakshmi's presence on Lord Sri Venkateswara (at Tirumala) or Vishnu's chest, at the Heart. Lakshmi is the embodiment of Love, from which devotion to God or Bhakti flows from. It is through Love/Bhakti or Lakshmi that the atma or soul is able to reach God or Vishnu.

 श्री सूक्तं  संस्कृत की एक भक्तिमयी वैदिक ऋचा है , देवी श्री या लक्ष्मी के लिए , जो सनातन धर्म में संपत्ति ,धन - धान्य की देवी मणि जाती हैं ये रिचेयें ऋग्वेद की खिल्नियों में पाई जाती हैं श्री सूक्तं का बहुत महत्त्व है क्यूंकि देवी महालक्ष्मी जी की उपस्थिति है , भागवान विष्णु के साथ, उनके ह्रदय में और ह्रदय से ही भक्ति की जाती है सो इस प्रेम / भक्ति /लक्ष्मी से ही भगवान नारायण की प्राप्ति हो सकती है

Oh Agni,please invoke Goddess Lakshami,luminous like gold,who wears gold and silver ornaments, who blooms like moon,personification of wealth,Oh Agni,please invoke Goddess Lakshami for me, with whose blessings I will attain wealth,cattle,horses and men.
 हे अग्नि , आप कृपया देवी लक्ष्मी का आवाहन कीजिये , जो स्वर्ण के सामान चमकती हैं ,जो सोने और चाँदी के आभूषण धारण करती हैं ,सम्पदा की मूरत हैं ,हे अग्नि , आप कृपया मेरे लिए  देवी लक्ष्मी का आवाहन कीजिये जिनके आशीर्वाद से मैं सम्पदा ,पशुधन अदि को प्राप्त कर सकूँ

I invoke Sri Goddess,  having in her frnt a line of horses, in the middle she has a chariot's series ,who is being awakened by the trumpeting of elephants, who is divinely resplendent.May Goddess Lakshami bless me.I invoke Godess Sri ,who is bliss personified,having a pleasent smile on her face ever,who is luminous .who is the personification of the fulfillment of wishes,who satisfies the wishes of her worshippers.Who is sitting on a lotus and is herself beautiful as the lotus as well.

मैं देवी श्री {लक्ष्मी } का आवाहन करता हूँ , जिनके सम्मुख घोड़ों की कतार है , और रथों की कतारें हैं ,जिनका अभिनन्दन हाथियों द्वारा किया जा रहा है ,जो दिव्य तेज्मायी हैं ,देवी लक्ष्मी मुझपर कृपा करें ,जो स्वयं परमनान्द्स्वरूपा हैं ,जिनके चेहरे पर एक मुस्कान सदा बनी रहती है ,प्रकाशमयी हैं , जो इच्छा पोर्न करने वाली हैं , देवी लक्ष्मी अपने भक्तों की अभिलाषाओं को पूरा करती हैं ,जो कमल के पुष्प पर बैठी हैं और स्वयं भी कमल के पुष्प के सामान सुन्दर हैं

 I am dependent on Goddess Lakshami to have shelter in this world.Goddess Lakshami is beautiful just like moon, resplendant ,who is adored by Gods even,who is benevolent, and who is like lotus herself.May my bad luck ends.I surrender to you oh Goddess,luminous like a sun,oh Goddess with your power and glory, plants like the bael tree have grown up. may its fruits  destroy by the grace of you, all inauspiciousness rising from the inner organs and ignorance as well from the outer senses.

 मैं देवी लक्ष्मी पर आश्रित हूँ , इस संसार में निर्वहन करने के लिए देवी लक्ष्मी , जो चन्द्र के समान सुन्दर हैं ,तेजोमय हैं ,जो देवताओं द्वारा भी पूजित हैं ,जो कृपा करने वाली हैं ,जो कमला हैं मेरा दुर्भाग्य समाप्त हो हे सूर्य के समान चमकने वाली देवी मैं आपकी शरण में हूँ आपकी ही शक्ति से बिल्व वृक्ष जैसे पेड़ पौधों का प्राकट्य हुआ , इसके फलों से सब अशुभता समाप्त हो , जो बाहरी इन्द्रियों और अंदरी इन्द्रियों के कारण हुए है

 O Lakshmi! I am born in this country with the heritage of wealth. May the friends of Lord Siva (Kubera, Lord of wealth  n fame ), come to me. May these , and provide me fame and prosperity. I shall destroy the elder sister to Lakshmi, the embodiment of inauspiciousness and such evil as hunger, thirst and the like. O Lakshmi! Drive out from my abode all misfortunes and poverty.
हे देवी मैं इस समृद्ध देश में जन्मा हूँ भगवन शिव के मित्र {कुबेर ,धन के देवता } मेरे पास आयें और मुझे यश और संपत्ति प्रदान करें हे देवी मैं आपकी बड़ी बहन अलक्ष्मी , जो भूख ,प्यास जैसी अशुभता को देने वाली हैं ,उनको दूर करूँ हे देवी मेरे घर से सारे अशुभता और दरिद्रता को दूर कीजिये

 I invoke Shri , who abides mainly in the cows ,who is invincible,who is ever healthy and who is supreme over all created beings. O Goddess  Lakshmi! May we obtain and enjoy the fulfillment of our desires and , the veracity of our speech, the wealth of cattle, the abundance of varieties of food to eat! May prosperity and fame reside in me. मैं श्री {लक्ष्मी } का आवाहन करता हूँ , जो अजेय हैं , सदैव स्वस्थ हैं ,सभी जीवों से श्रेष्ठ हैं हे देवी लक्ष्मी आपकी कृपा से हमारी इच्छाएं  पूर्ण हों , हम वाणी की सत्यता को प्राप्त करें ,और हम आनंद को प्राप्त करें , हम पशुधन को प्राप्त करें , तरह तरह के भोजन को प्राप्त करें , हममें  यश और धन धन्य सदैव बना रहे

Oh Agni,please invoke Goddess Lakshami for me  who is luminous like gold , brilliant like sun,strongly fragrant ,who is the form of supreme rulership, who is resplendent with ornaments and is the goddess of wealth.  Oh Agni,please invoke Goddess Lakshami for me who shines like gold, blooms like the moon, who is fresh with fragrant.Who is adorned with the lotuses (lifted up by celestial elephants in the act of worship), who is the presiding deity of nourishment, who is yellow in colour, and who wears garlands of lotuses.हे अग्नि , कृपया मेरे लिए देवी लक्ष्मी का आवाहन कीजिये , जो स्वर्ण के समान चमकती हैं ,सूर्य के समान प्रकाशमयी हैं ,अत्यधिक सुगन्धियुक्त हैं ,जो सर्वोत्तम सत्ता का प्रतीक हैं ,जो अभूशनों से और भी चमकदार दिखती हैं ,जो धन -धान्य की देवी हैं ,  हे अग्नि , कृपया मेरे लिए देवी लक्ष्मी का आवाहन कीजिये जो सूर्य के समान चमकती हैं , चन्द्र के समान खिलती हैं ,  जो की कमल के पुष्पों द्वारा आभूषित हैं {दिव्य हाथियों द्वारा भी कमल के पुष्प आराधना के लिए कमल पुष्पों द्वारा पूजित हैं } , जो पोषण करने वाली महत्वपूर्ण देवी हैं , जिनका रंग पीला है , जो कमल के फूलों के आभूषण पहनती है   

Oh Agni,please invoke Goddess Lakshami for me , who is ever unfailing, being blesses by whom I shall win wealth in plenty, cattle, servants, horses and men. हे अग्नि , आप मेरे लिए कृप्य देवी लक्ष्मी का आवाहन कीजिये , जो कभी न हारने वाली हैं ,जिनकी कृपा से मुझे प्रचुर सम्पदा ,पशुधन अदि को प्राप्त कर सकूँ

 Aum mahá-devyai cha vidmahe, vishnu-patnaiya cha dhímahiTanno Lakshmíh prachódayát || (16)

 We commune ourselves with the Great Goddess, and meditate on the consort of Vishnu;

may that Lakshmi direct us (to the Great Goal). Om May there be Peace, Peace, Peace.
